Visual Anthropology of Intergenerational Resistance | Exploring Activism Through Photography, Film, and Sound
Daisy Moncrief is a visual anthropologist and researcher whose work explores the intersections of everyday activism, material culture, and digital infrastructure. Currently completing her Master’s degree in Visual Anthropology at Münster University, her research investigates how grassroots movements, feminist collectives, and diasporic communities sustain activism across diverse global contexts and methods.
Bridging rigorous ethnographic fieldwork with creative, multimodal storytelling, Daisy incorporates photographic, audio and visual documentation directly into her research methodologies. Her academic portfolio includes long-term fieldwork with feminist groups, advanced language training in Spanish and Indonesian, and public-facing curation, such as her Photography and Audio exhibition Körper im Widerstand in Münster, Germany, during March 2025.
Active within the European film and festival landscape, Daisy has engaged deeply with documentary culture as an attendee at prominent events such as the Berlinale, IDFA, LIFF, LEFF, and the Göttingen International Ethnographic Film Festival. She also participated in the prestigious CPH:DOX Academy in Denmark. An intensive, talent-development programme for emerging filmmakers and students featuring masterclasses, seminars, and intimate post-screening discussions with international directors.

Alongside supporting core curatorial and event logistics. She also developed and established the cinema's initial social media strategy and visual identity.
